This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Aiko AI Companion collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We believe in transparency and respect your privacy.

01Overview
Aiko AI Companion (the "App") is a 3D life simulation game featuring an AI character developed by Olympus Studio ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the App on iOS, Android, and desktop platforms.
The short version: Your conversations are processed by third-party AI providers in real time. We don't sell your data. Your chat history lives on your device, not on our servers. You can request data deletion at any time.
Aiko AI Companion is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are under 18, please do not use the App.
02Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Display Name — the name you enter during onboarding
- Chat Messages — text and voice input you send to Aiko during conversations
- Personality Preferences — traits you select to customize Aiko's personality
- Customization Choices — outfits, hair styles, and other visual preferences
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Identifiers — an anonymous app-scoped UUID (not your device's hardware ID)
- User ID — a random identifier generated on first launch for analytics correlation
- Device Information — device model, OS version, app version, language, screen resolution
- Performance Data — frame rate, memory usage, app crashes
- App Interactions — features used, session length, relationship progression milestones
- Purchase History — in-app purchases you make (handled by Apple/Google)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your precise location — we do not access GPS or location services
- Your contacts or address book
- Your photos or media library
- Your voice recordings — voice input is transcribed in real time and immediately discarded; audio is never stored
- Your conversations on our servers (iOS App Store version) — chat messages are processed by third-party AI in real time and never persisted on Olympus Studio servers
03How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data to:
- Generate Aiko's responses — chat messages are sent in real time to AI providers (see Section 4)
- Personalize your experience — trait preferences shape how Aiko speaks and reacts to you
- Moderate content for safety — every message is screened by automated moderation before processing
- Improve the App — anonymized usage metrics help us identify bugs, crashes, and performance issues
- Process payments — purchase data flows through Apple App Store / Google Play
- Deliver ads in the free version — Google AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier (if you grant tracking permission) to show more relevant ads. You can remove ads entirely by purchasing the Remove Ads IAP.
- Comply with legal obligations — where required by law
We do NOT sell your personal data. We do NOT use your chat content to train AI models. We do NOT share your chat content or personal profile with advertisers — only the device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / AAID on Android) is shared with Google AdMob for ad targeting, and only if you've granted tracking permission.
04Third-Party Services
To deliver Aiko's features, we share specific data with the following third-party service providers. Each service receives only the minimum data needed for its purpose.
DeepInfra
Receives your messages and Aiko's personality context to generate real-time responses. Messages are processed in the moment and not retained for training.
OpenAI
Used for three purposes: (1) content-safety moderation (every message checked before processing), (2) voice transcription via Whisper (audio processed in real time and discarded), and (3) fallback conversational AI when DeepInfra is unavailable. Data is not retained for training per OpenAI API terms.
Google Cloud
Receives Aiko's response text (not your messages) to generate her voice. No personal identifiers are attached.
Google Firebase
Collects anonymized crash reports, performance metrics, and feature usage. Gated on your explicit consent during onboarding. Does not receive chat content.
Google AdMob
Delivers rewarded and interstitial ads in the free version on both iOS and Android. On iOS, ad targeting uses your advertising identifier only if you grant tracking permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, you'll still see ads but they won't be personalized. You can remove ads entirely via the Remove Ads in-app purchase.
Apple / Google Play
In-app purchases are processed entirely by the platform store. Olympus Studio never sees your payment details, card numbers, or billing address.
Olympus Studio Backend
We collect usage metrics to improve the App: session length, feature usage, device model, selected personality traits, relationship progress, your chosen display name, and anonymized performance data. On iOS App Store builds, chat content is NOT uploaded to our servers. Analytics data is retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted.
05Data Storage & Security
Chat Messages
Your messages are processed in real time by DeepInfra (AI response generation) and OpenAI (content moderation). These providers do not store or train on your messages — they process them in the moment and discard them per their enterprise API terms. Your conversation history is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to Olympus Studio's servers from the iOS App Store version. You can clear your conversation history at any time from the in-app Settings.
Encryption
All data transmitted between the App and our servers (or third-party services) is protected by HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Sensitive fields stored locally on your device are encrypted using AES-256.
Security Measures
- HMAC-signed API requests to prevent tampering
- API keys stored encrypted and rotated via remote config
- Play Integrity verification on Android to block piracy and tampered builds
- Server-side rate limiting and abuse monitoring
06Data Retention
- Conversations & AI Memory — stored on your device only. Deleted when you clear history or uninstall the App.
- Analytics & Usage Data — retained on our servers for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted.
- Crash Logs — retained by Firebase Crashlytics per Google's retention policy (currently 90 days).
- Purchase Records — retained as required by applicable tax and consumer-protection laws.
07Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request that we delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Opt-out — withdraw consent for analytics at any time from the in-app Settings
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

08Children's Privacy
Aiko AI Companion is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete the data.
09International Transfers
Our servers and third-party providers (DeepInfra, OpenAI, Google) are based in the United States. By using the App, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate, subject to the safeguards described in this Policy.
10Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on our website, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
